Hello! Let me introduce myself

I'm a Washington state native, and love the great outdoors. I spent a lot of my childhood outside, and in those formative years I developed a deep love of nature. I also caught an incurable case of curiosity, which I've never been able to shake. I'm continually learning, wondering, and thinking about the world around me. Becoming a scientist was a natural fit for me.

I also have many other hobbies and interests. I love running, and have completed 9 marathons and many shorter races. I run for the social aspect, mind-clearing, and to literally chase down my running goals. I also make jewelry and have experience in silver-smithing and lapidary. You may notice this website has a lot of photos, and that's because I have always enjoyed photography too!
